Detroit. The Motor City. The home of Motown, and also the birthplace of techno. Otherwise known as The 313 after its telephone area code, the city has played a pivotal part in music history.

As an homage to Detroit, Steve Mac has produced ‘The 313’ with singer/songwriter Alana Maria. Alana was born in Detroit and lived most of her life in the Motor City before moving to the UK. Known for singing and writing the house classic ‘Burning’ with MK, she popped into Steve’s studio to work on a session and ended up recording some words about Detroit for fun.

Utilising some of the analogue hardware in his studio and Alana’s vocal, Steve Mac has made this storming techno beast. Building from just a moody kick-drum into a raw, immersive technoid anthem, ‘The 313’ flips the switch and fucks with your head. This demands to be heard on a big system.
